Never one to shy away from creative experimentation, Scandroid amplifies his unique approach to synthwave with a rich blend of genre influences on the new album, The Light. Following the gentle synth nostalgia of the intro track, “Into the Light,” Scandroid takes listeners through one of the most extraordinary tracklists in the genre to date, combining authentic ‘80s elements with contemporary production for a diverse and consistently exciting listening experience.
From the synthpop stylings of “Writing’s on the Wall” and “Purified” to the post-punk vibes of “Everywhere You Go” and the chilled-out introspection of “I Remember You,” Scandroid surprises listeners at every turn. The Light further reveals the magnitude of Scandroid’s songwriting skills while crafting a selection of music that flows effortlessly across it’s running time.
In addition to seven original tracks, The Light includes a selection of thrilling remixes from established and up-and-coming artists alike, including Lucy in Disguise, Fury Weekend, Tommy ‘86, PRIZM, and Turboslash. The Light is the follow-up to last year’s The Darkness, and together the recordings pave the way to the full release of Scandroid’s highly-anticipated double album, The Darkness and the Light, due in 2020.
